The short version

  • One cookie, and it only remembers which player you are.
  • No ads, no trackers, no analytics scripts, no selling data. Ever.
  • We only ever hold your email if you choose to sign in with it.

What we store

When you first visit, we create a guest player for you: a random ID and a generated name like "Player ABCD". That player record holds your game results, rating, achievements, puzzle solves and play counters — the things that make your profile work.

If you later sign in (with an email link or Google), we also store the email address and chosen username you give us, so your record survives a change of device or cleared cookies. That is the complete list — we never ask for anything else, and we never buy or sell data about you.

Cookies

Find Four sets exactly one cookie: a session token that tells us which player you are, so your games and stats stay yours. It lasts a year and is strictly necessary for the site to work.

There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party trackers of any kind. That is why you have never seen a cookie banner here — there is nothing to consent to.

What other players can see

Your display name, rating and win/loss record are visible to opponents you play and, if you rank, on the leaderboard. In a game, opponents also see your moves and any emoji reactions you send — reactions come from a fixed set, so there is no way to send personal information through them.

Your email address is never shown to anyone.

Where your data lives

Everything is stored on our own server, hosted with OVH in Europe. We do not share your data with anyone except the service that delivers our sign-in emails, which sees your email address only when we send you one.

Your choices

You can play forever as a guest without telling us anything about yourself.

If you want your account and its history deleted, or a copy of what we hold about you, email us at hello@findfour.io and we will sort it out. Deleting your account removes your profile, stats and achievements permanently.

Children

Find Four is made to be safe for everyone. Guests are never asked for personal information, there is no free-text chat between players, and display names are checked against a blocklist. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before creating an account with an email address.
